Policies
1. Safety & Supervision
Our Commitment to Your Child
Staff-to-Children Ratios: We maintain a strict ratio of 1:10 or better to ensure that every child receives the attention and guidance they need. Our staff is acting as a facilitator, not giving the answer but guiding the children to discover their own answers.
The “Rule of Three”: To ensure the safety of both campers and staff, no adult is ever permitted to be alone with a single child in an unobserved area.
Staff Vetting: Every team member undergoes a rigorous screening process, including federal and state background checks, sex offender registry sweeps, and personal reference verifications.
2. Health & Wellness
Keeping Campers Healthy and Active
Medication Policy: All medications (prescription and over-the-counter) must be submitted to the Director in their original pharmacy packaging. Our staff will document every dose administered.
Allergy Awareness: We are a Nut-Aware facility. We ask that parents refrain from sending snacks containing peanuts or tree nuts. Our staff is trained in the use of EpiPens and emergency allergy protocols.
Hydration & Sun Protection: Campers are required to bring a refillable water bottle. Where we schedule outdoor play time, we require the use of sunscreen. If a child does not have sunscreen, we will provide a hypoallergenic SPF 50+ alternative.
- Lunch & Snacks (where applicable): Please send a nut-free snack, lunch, and refillable water bottle daily.
3. Arrival & Departure
Secure Check-in and Check-out inside the classroom
Authorized Pickup: Children will only be released to individuals listed on the “Authorized Pickup” form. Photo ID is required every day — no exceptions.
Late Pickups: A late fee of $1.00 per minute will be assessed to cover the cost of extended staff supervision.
4. Behavior & Electronics
Building a Positive Community
Code of Conduct: We foster a “Kindness First” environment. Bullying, physical aggression, or exclusionary behavior is not tolerated. We use a “Redirect, Reflect, Resolve” approach to discipline.
Screen-Free Zone: To encourage social growth and outdoor play, cell phones, tablets, and handheld gaming devices are not permitted at camp. If brought, they will be kept safely in the director’s office until checkout. When required (for example, for Scratch or Python), children will need to bring their own laptops and leave them at their chair until they are required, based on facilitator call.
Dress Code: Campers should wear closed-toe shoes (sneakers) and comfortable clothing that can get messy!
5. Cancellations & Refunds
Refund Policy: Cancellations made 30 days prior to the start date are eligible for a full refund (minus a $50 administrative fee). After the start date, all cancellations require a 30-day notice.
